Mist, like a cloud, covering The Cross pond
On a recent Sunday I captured this picture in the backyard on The Cross property, a beautiful mist covering the pond and land while the sun was setting.
Mist is caused by particles of water vapor filling the air until it is only partially transparent. Mist and haze produce much the same effect, the one being due to moisture in the atmosphere and the other to dust particles. It is nothing else than a cloud touching the land.
The other night during worship I read aloud scripture about the dedication of Solomon’s temple:
2 Chron 5:11-14
11 And it came to pass when the priests came out of the Most Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without keeping to their divisions), 12 and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets– 13 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying:
“For He is good, For His mercy endures forever,”
that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
What a picture!!! The temple was filled with a cloud - the glory of the Lord!
When did the cloud, the glory of the Lord, fill the house of God?
- It was when they were unanimous, when they were as one, to make one sound. Where unity is, the Lord commands the blessing. (Ps. 133)
- It was when they were rejoicing and lifting up their voices to praise and thank the Lord. They were probably singing and shouting for joy as they praised the Lord, glorying in His Holy Name. The Word says they also were thanking the Lord, probably calling to remembrance all the things that He had done, making known His doings among the peoples, singing their thanks as well. (I Chron. 16:4-10)
- It was when they were, with their praises and thanksgivings, celebrating the everlasting mercy and goodness of God. Twenty-six times in Psalm 136 we find these beautiful words, “For His mercy endures forever,” one of the most comprehensive statements regarding the nature of God in all the Bible. When the glory of God appeared, they were singing this simple song, “He is good, and His mercy endures forever”.

Misty Sunset at The Cross
When we spend time together worshiping an audience of One here at The Cross Worship Ministry, we incorporate the following elements: worship through music, prayers of thanksgiving and God’s Word. We read, pray and sing God’s Word back to Him. We fear the Lord, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord brings unity. We regularly experience unity in the midst of diversity among the worshipers here and we are thankful for God’s blessing upon us and this house on a lake that He brought us to. Come join us at The Cross and see for yourself. God is good. His mercy endures forever.
