Prov 19:23 “The fear of the LORD leads to life; and he who has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.” Do you want to rest satisfied? Revere God.

Mark 6:31 “And He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)” Our bodies need time to rest, to sleep.

Ps 46:10 “Be still, [cease striving] and know that I am God.” Surrender ALL CONTROL to Jesus.

Ps 37:7 “Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him. Fret not…” Trust the Lord, look to Him alone, lest you offend Him by your fear of man and distrust of Him.

Matt 11:27-30 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Learn of Him. Learn who He is, learn His ways, learn to receive from Him. Know God.

During our time of transitioning to be gatekeepers of this ministry, the Lord reminded me of Exodus 14:14-15, (my paraphrase) “Hold your peace, remain at rest, the Lord will fight for you. Go forward.” I could not understand just what that was going to look like at that time. However, today I know that I was about to learn what it truly means to be at peace and remain resting and trusting the Lord, no matter the circumstances. I’ve learned that the battle belongs to the Lord, that it is not my battle. I hold my peace and remain at rest while He fights the battle for me. And, on top of that, I learned how to go forward at the same time, just like the scripture said! Someone once said, “The greatest struggle is not to struggle.” Learning to enter His rest no matter where I am or what I am doing or what is happening around me, has changed my life in recent years. If you are struggling with your struggles, take it from me, wave the white flag of surrender to the Lord and tell Him you have given up trying to do His job , and let Him bring you into His rest!

Well, not exactly…

But nine years ago today, on June 15, 2001, a handful of people gathered for an evening of worshiping Jesus at a little white church on Macland Road located just over a mile from where we are now on Gus Robinson Road. We had our name, The Cross Worship Ministry. We had a desire for many years that had now been given an open door of opportunity, a place in which we could physically begin. It was the conception of a new thing that God had been preparing us for throughout our lives up to that appointed time. We recall all the way back to our wedding ceremony in 1979 how we wanted our family and friends to join us in worshiping Jesus at the ceremony. We remember our cross shaped wedding cake that a family friend said she knew she was to bake for us and, using our fall wedding color scheme of orange, yellow, red and brown, we now realize the significance of how that wedding cake was a prophetic picture of what was to come! These couple of memories are now very foundational to us as we see how the Lord has been preparing us all along to be right where we are today – gatekeepers at a house of worship and prayer in Powder Springs, Georgia! We recall these things and much more and give thanks to God for His faithfulness to us throughout our lives. We call to remembrance and give thanks, praising God, just like King David instructed the Levites to do in I Chronicles 16 as continuous worship was to take place before the ark of the Lord.

So, join with us today in remembering, thanking, and praising the Lord God Almighty for what He has begun here. It may have begun with a dream and a desire in Mark’s heart about 24 years ago, but today it is a reality – a beautiful “house on a lake” property where worshipers can join together in precious unity, experiencing a safe place in which there is His freedom, His peace, and His grace!

Saturday could not have been a more perfect day in which to debut the new Truck ministry which is now ready-to-roll into our communities! With nine worship teams singing and playing heartfelt worship songs to the Lord Jesus as a crowd of approximately 150 came and went throughout the day, this was a very happening place at our house on a lake! The fellowship of the believers was warm and enjoyable, the Maggiano’s catered meal was delicious, the fishing was relaxing and yes, fish were caught and returned to the lake, the canoe didn’t topple once, and a few tried the games. The partly cloudy day was a picture perfect day! Browse our photos to see for yourself! (pictures posted below)

What the worshipers are saying about the new vehicle: “Impressed with the worship truck…Such a great tool for outdoor evangelism.” “Never seen anything like this before!” “Amazing!” “WOW!” “Just drive up, set up in half an hour and you’re ready to go!” “It wouldn’t surprise me if you get so many calls to use this that you will need a second one!” Used a “laptop with all the chord charts on it to display on everybody’s monitors. Re-key a song in a second with the up down arrow keys. Switch charts with a foot switch. Amazing!” Regarding the sound, “Beautiful blend!” “High quality!” “The sound is incredible!”

If you couldn’t make it out to the Open House this past Saturday, then you are welcome to come by The Cross anytime to see this custom designed truck with your own eyes, behind the worship house.
