Just Imagine. . .
King David is referred to as “a man after God’s own heart”. One reason is because he assigned the tribe of Levi to worship 24/7 in the Tabernacle, calling to mind and giving thanks for all the continued blessings God had given His people. The Levites worshiped 24 hours, 7 days a week for over 38 years.
Our vision is quite simple…to host the presence of God through musical worship, prayer, and the reading of His holy word. The fruits of this vision are limitless.
What Happens at The Cross Worship Ministry (TCWM)?
This is what we do at TCWM. We come to minister to the Lord. Our primary focus is offerings of prayer (starting with thanksgiving), reading scripture, and music of many different styles. We encourage each worshiper to bring their best offering of love to honor the Lord each time they come. The worship times are normally in two hour time periods and we work with the worshipers to support them any way we can. We encourage people to come and build a stronger and more intimate relationship with the Lord while they are here. This is an inner court ministry; everything that is done here is to minster to our Audience of One – the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not performers, we are worshipers. We don’t preach to the Lord, we don’t prophesy to Him, and we encourage not making the worship time a “ask God for what I think I need session”. We also let the Lord be the chief minister to the people. We have noticed that He always gets it right! While we do care and minister to people, we do that outside of and around the worship times. “Cross Pollination” is what we like to call this opportunity for worshipers of different backgrounds to come together to worship in unity. It is a wonderful thing to see. Worship at TCWM is for anyone with a desire to honor the Lord. Come and join us soon!
This ministry to Christ-centered musicians, intercessors and worshipers is based on I Chronicles 15 – 17 which is the story of David bringing the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem up on the shoulders of the Levites with rejoicing, to the sound of musical instruments. The Ark was placed in a tent and David appointed singers and musicians to minster before the Lord, “to invoke, to thank, and to praise the Lord.
Ministry Focal Points
The focus of the ministry at TCWM is on three basic elements.
It is extremely important that Christian musicians are provided a setting that encourages a balance of heart-felt worship and excellence of presentation for an “Audience of One.”
The Cross Worship Ministry has also been instrumental in taking those that feel discarded or broken by professional music ministry and helping them restore their love of worship. We know that all of God’s children have an offering that is pleasing in the Father’s eyes. We provide a time and a place of acceptance for all passionate worshipers to bring their first fruits to God. He loves all His children equally.
“First of all , then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men. For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth. For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time. I Timothy 2:1-6, Amplified Bible
We are instructed to offer prayers on behalf of ALL, and would count it a blessing to pray for you personally. This includes prayers for obtaining the good things, spiritual and temporal, which we ourselves need; prayers on behalf of others; and thanksgiving and praises to God for all the blessings which we and others have received. If you would like to contact us with a prayer request, we would be glad to hear from you and pray for you.
“When the [uncompromisingly] righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh.” Proverbs 29:2, Amplified Bible
Providing a place that encourages believers in prayer is the natural partner for a true worship experience.
No expression of worship will ever be pure unless it abides by the guidelines set forth in God’s word. The praying, singing, reading, and communication of God’s word reveals the deep inner meanings it contains for all men.
What to expect on your first visit to The Cross
You may want to read our Guidelines and Suggestions for Musicians, Singers & Intercessors here before you come by. Even if you are not a musician or singer, no problem! As a worshiper of the Lord Jesus Christ, you might enjoy sitting or lying down and resting in His presence, praying silently, reading your bible, meditating on the Word, singing, dancing or any combination of the above.
The first names of the Lead Worshipers for each session are listed on our Monthly Worship Schedule in our entry way. We desire to be as inclusive as possible with all worshipers, but please be respectful of the Lead Worshiper’s time. It is a courteous thing to either wait to be invited to join a set or seek permission as to when you can participate. On your first visit you may just want to observe and take it all in. If you would like to be part of a worship team or have your own time of worship, complete an Information Card in the entry way and let us know. There are plenty of opportunities available for you.
If you have a prayer request, blank cards to write your request on are available in the entry way. You may place your prayer request in the wire basket on the altar shelf.
Weather and time of day permitting, you may want to enjoy the beautiful property and sit by the lake to watch the ducks and geese, or rest on the bench by the fountain out front.
Those who are a part of this worshiping community can also enjoy fishing on the pond. Please park off the main driveway in the pea gravel areas and walk down to the pond. You may move any of our chairs to use while fishing, but please return them to where they were and bag your trash before putting it in our garbage bin prior to leaving. Before fishing on the weekends, please contact us for available times. Thank you.
Our Food Ministry is a blessing from God that is provided for all the worshipers who gather here to honor Jesus Christ. Come to worship The Bread of Life and leave with bread or other food items that are available. If you know someone who is struggling to make ends meet, invite them to join you for a time of worship and bring them downstairs to do some grocery shopping with you.
*Our Food Ministry is currently closed.
